March 23, 2000 Microtek International and Microsoft Corporation have formed a partnership to provide their customers with development tools supporting the Windows CE operating system. This partnership will allow Microtek to integrate its high performance emulators into the Windows CE Platform Builder development environment. Microtek, a leader in high performance emulators for the x86 market, will provide Intel Architecture emulators for integration into the Windows CE development environment. The result will be a fully integrated development system allowing the user to benefit from the features of Microsoft Platform Builder coupled with the run-time control, trace and trigger features available from Microtek. This combination is a preferred tool for fast prototyping. "In the world of embedded systems development, it is critical to manage complexity and reduce time to market. Embedded Tools Partners are creating products that give hardware and software developers the advantage they need to win," according to Harel Kodesh, Vice President of the Productivity Appliance Division at Microsoft. The integrated product will be available in two phases. The first phase will provide the run-time control features with the Platform Builder and will be available in April 2000. The second phase will include the trace and trigger functionality, and be available in June 2000.
